Lodgings: The Crestow House
Crestow House is your ultimate Cotswolds escape, re-imagined. A 7-bedroom luxury boutique hotel, set within a beautifully restored Victorian manor house in Stow on the Wold. It’s a place where old hotel traditions, like check-in desks and inflexible rules, do not exist. A place that you will come to know as a home away from home, with the very best the Cotswolds has to offer right outside your gate.
We begin at Paddington Station (London), where we will journey first class to the Cotswolds by train. We will arrive at Kingham station to be picked up by our driver Dean, and brought to Crestow House, our home base for the week. After dropping our bags, we will walk through the charming town of Stow on the Wold to Huffkins Tea Room where we will enjoy a classic afternoon British Tea. Huffkins was established in c.1890 in a tiny stone Cotswold cottage, delivering fresh baked goods from its wood- fire oven by donkey cart; today it is an award-winning bakery. We will take our time enjoying a leisurely afternoon tea while getting to know one another and enjoying this traditional British experience. After tea, we will walk back to the Crestow House, stopping briefly at The Cotswold Chocolate Company to learn a little about the traditional way they craft beautiful confections from local milk and cream and to try some of the unique chocolates they create. The rest of the afternoon and evening will be free time to get settled and to explore our home base, Stow on the Wold, a historic market town located in Gloucestershire, England filled with Cotswold stone and historic buildings.
We begin our day with Breakfast at the Crestow House, then we will venture to one of our favorite places, Daylesford Organic Farm for a full day of classes combining floristry and cookery. We will begin our day in their Cookery studio where we will pick produce from the amazing Daylesford gardens and will work with our Chefs to cook a delicious lunch and then will sit down to enjoy with a glass of wine from their sister estate Chateau Leoube. After lunch, we will head to the floristry studio to enjoy a private lesson on how to create a beautiful table arrangement which you will bring home to enjoy in your room for the remainder of your stay. We will spend another few hours of free time at Daylesford letting you shop, explore the farm or relax in their courtyard with a book and a coffee. We recommend booking a Spa Experience for the late afternoon at their Bamford Spa (optional). In the early evening we will enjoy a Seasonal Dinner from their wood-fire oven before returning back to the the Crestow House.
