Breads of Tuscany

Italian bakers believe that there are hundreds of different Italian breads. Each region of Italy has developed its own favorite cuisine which includes bread. The focus of this class will be on the beautiful region of Tuscany’s two favorite yeasted breads – Pane Toscano and Focaccia.Pane Toscano is loved for the flavor of the wheat, which is more pronounced in the absence of salt, and is usually eaten with salty foods, such as cheese, olives, salami, or anchovies. The wonderfully versatile focaccia can be sweet or savory, and adorned with endless toppings, fromsea salt and herbs to fruits and vegetables.
